The Indigo Squirrel founder Cathy Wilkerson has been a buyer and merchandiser in the home furnishings industry for over three decades. Cathy has developed products with leading textile manufacturers in Europe, Asia and the U.S. She is currently the Territory Sales Manager for Norman Window Fashions. She has extensive knowledge in both soft and hard window treatments, organizational methods, sustainable materials for the home and textiles used for window and upholstery.

Cathy is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Textile Design and has been a teacher in the CE department at RISD for over 10 years. She teaches a variety of courses in window treatments, textiles and color and design to interior design students. In her spare time Cathy loves to embroider, knit, weave and dye with indigo and other natural dyes.  Cathy also runs a small business called The Indigo Squirrel where she provides workshops in indigo dyeing.

She lives in Massachusetts with her husband Mark and their dog Olive.
