Wayland Farmers Market: Wayland, MA, Sunday, March 8, 10:30-3pm, the SENE Fibershed table will be represented by members Erika Field and Juliette Pécaut who will be talking about the Sweaters For Good Project alongside the Hudson Valley Textile Project and featuring SENE members as well as other vendor’s local yarn. Go say hi!!

Museum of Work & Culture’s Rewoven: The Rise, Fall, and Future of American Textiles  exhibit opening: Woonsocket, RI, Sunday, March 8, 1:30-3pm, members of the SENE Fibershed, are part of the exhibit as well as the Acadiana Fibershed, NY Fibershed, and RISD Sustainability Lab’s really interesting wool creations. We’ll actually have a whole fibershed section focusing on regional manufacturing and impacts of the fashion industry on water and soil! There’s also a short documentary screening and panel which SENE Fibershed Director, Amy DuFault will be on alongside Draper Knitting, the curator of the exhibit, as well as 2 mill workers (past and present) to discuss how innovation, adaptation, and sustainability are redefining the future of textiles. FREE! Register here!

Second Chances (Fiber Arts exhibit by Fiber Fusion): Falmouth, MA, Saturday, March 14th, 10am-2pm, featuring SENE members from the Falmouth Art Center Fiber Group. Second Chances seeks to expand the definition of fiber art by integrating unexpected materials and methods that create unique works of art that are outside the scope of those normally expected in the genre. Artist and SENE member Nicole Goldman will also be giving her own talk on April 9th).

Coggeshall Sheep & Wool Festival: Bristol, RI, May 16th, 10am-4pm, Learn about and see demonstrations of sheep shearing, wool processing, dyeing, weaving, and spinning.
