Kristin Crane is a weaver and designer living in Providence, Rhode Island. She graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (today Thomas Jefferson University) with a degree in textile design, with a concentration in wovens. Kristin began her career designing jacquard fabrics for the residential home furnishings market with mills in the United States and China. Today she is the Director of Marketing for Design Pool, an online pattern library for interior designers. She has also contributed blog posts and pattern designs to Gist Yarn.

Kristin maintains an art practice from her home studio where she weaves, knits, and dyes. She loves to travel and is fascinated with what cloth tells us about a place and the people who live there. Much of her work explores a sense of place and expresses through textiles what connects us to a place.
