2025 Fibershed Events

As we continue building the Southeastern New England Fibershed alongside our fibershed partners in the Northeast (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York), we’re offering a number of public-facing events.

Members are free, non-members pay a one-time $10 fee for Zoom presentations and $20 for field trips.

(IN PERSON) August 9, 3-7pm, Seekonk, MA: Osamequin Farm + Southeastern New England Fibershed Dye Party! Natural dyeing with Osamequin Farm dye plants, indigo dyeing (learn hapazome, shibori, bundle dye and other techniques), natural fibers clothing swap, vendor shopping, refreshments and all on a beautiful farm! (IN PERSON) October 9, 9-12pm, Falmouth, MA: Northeast Dyeworks + Southeastern New England Fibershed: Woodland Alchemy: Fall Leaf & Pine Needle Printing, Join Northeast Dyeworks and the Southeastern New England Fibershed for an exciting class involving eco-printing with fall foliage and yes, even pine needles!

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore a number of Northeast dye plants found all over Falmouth’s beautiful 20-acre Coonamessett Farm. We’ll discuss the uses of the plants throughout time as we stroll and harvest, then come back to our dye area and get to work extracting the colors. (Mark your calendars! registration opens soon)
