Laurel Ledge Farm was started in 1992 as a family love affair with llamas. Within a few months of bringing llamas home I learned to spin, and we decided to become llama breeders and increased our herd. Our girls loved showing in 4-H, and training those adorable crias! Next, we all learned how to wet felt. Angora rabbits entered the scene a few years later, and now we had their amazing fiber to add to the products we were making.
Alpacas joined the farm about 10 years ago for their contribution to the fiber aspect of the business. We now have a 3rd generation joining us, as our grandchildren also love the animals and the fiber arts! We are vendors at about six fiber shows a year, in addition to hosting classes and an Open Farm Day on the farm. We also have a store on Etsy.
Now that we are retired from our “real” jobs we get to have more time with our fun jobs!
