The RealFibers studio is located in the historic Mill at Shady Lea in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.  Set on an iconic river with defunct water wheels of industrialization, the Mill houses earnest and eclectic craftsmen, makers, and artists. Many looms live with us for teaching and limited production. We are open to general public by appointment.

RealFibers Handweaving Studio founder Suzi Ballenger is an endorsed participant in the Arts in Education program of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA). Private instruction is recommended through Saunderstown Weaving School in Saunderstown, RI and Slater Mill Museum Community Guild Studios in Pawtucket, RI.

Suzi and fellow weaver Wayne Bruce are the principal weavers at Humble Linens, producing heirloom linen. The showroom and studio is also located at Shady Lea Studios in North Kingstown and the duo produce bed sheets, duvet covers, bath/spa/kitchen towels, and other domestic treasures such as challah/bread cloths, table ware, and smaller bedside rugs. Each season they add new items and refresh designs, yet the art of making these heirloom linens remains the same.
